" Honey is a natural substance produced by bees (Apis melliferas) which has been part of human consumption for a long time, if it has been related to the treatment of various diseases by the compounds they have. These properties derive from the botanical origin of honey because when collecting the nectar and pollen from the plants that the bees visit, they also subtract secondary metabolites that may be beneficial for health. The objective of the study was to identify the melifera flora with ornamental and medicinal potential in the apiaries of the state of Yucatán. The results of this work will enable the use of plants in different areas of science such as medicine and ornamental trade. As part of the methodology applied to this study, species that were close to the apiaries were collected and identified, each plant was categorized according to value (melifero, ornamental and medicinal). Later, a palinotheque was made with the same collected material that served as a reference to determine the botanical origin of honey in the state of Yucatan. Sixty-four flowering species were identified during visits in the apiaries belonging to the family Acanthaceae, Agavaceae, Apocynaceae, Asteraceae, Bignoniaceae, Boraginaceae, Cactaceae, Capparaceae, Commelinaceae, Convolvulaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Lythraceae, Malpighiaceae, Malvaceae, Moringaceae, Oxalidaceae, Passifloraceae, Polygonaceae, Rubiaceae, Rutaceae, Sapindaceae, Sapotaceae, Solanaceae, Urticaceae and Verbenaceae. Of the plants identified, 40 were for meliferous use, 28 ornamental and 48 for medicinal use. Fifty species with their morphological description of pollen were attached to the CIATEJ palinotheque. The honeys were classified as monofloral of two important species in the Piscidia piscipula and Gymnopodium floribundum state "
